For In-Network Educators and Schools

Already an in-network partner school with us?

We know that access to high quality arts education resources is an equity issue for schools across the country, especially Title 1 elementary and middle schools. We offer dedicated resources to our Title 1, in-network schools to support their deep commitment to the arts.

  • Fellowship Program

This annual program is for educators, teaching artists, principals, and local arts partners working in or affiliated with Turnaround Arts partner schools who are interested in developing and sharing their own arts-full practices. Fellows receive a stipend, free professional development, opportunities to attend conferences, and participate in pilot programs.

Application for the next cycle opens January 21, 2025.

  • Student Showcase

Turnaround Arts elementary and middle school students from across the country gather at the Kennedy Center to perform in the Turnaround Arts Student Showcase. In a dynamic variety show filled with singing, dancing, original spoken word, and more, the next generation of artists and leaders perform acts created and rehearsed in their hometowns. The Student Showcase is an opportunity for in-network students to build community and share their artistic voices with each other and the nation.

  • Digital Community

The Turnaround Arts Digital Community is your hub for connection, collaboration, and growth in arts-full practices. For in-network Title 1 schools and educators, arts partners, teaching artists, and thought partners, you will gain access to exclusive resources, connect with fellow educators and arts advocates, and deepen your impact on students and communities.

All in-network educators and schools will receive an invitation to the digital community before the 25-26 school year.

  • For All Educators and Schools

Turnaround Arts is able to share free resources to all teachers and principals. You can also consider deepening your experiences and opportunities through Arts-full Pathways.

Turnaround Arts on Tour

Turnaround Arts on Tour provides funding and logistical support to bring exceptional facilitators and teaching artists to Turnaround Arts in-network schools. The program draws from recent Arts Education Conference presenters with a range of offerings from student engagements to professional development for educators, principals, and administrators.

Some of the artists who have participated in the past include poet Jacqueline Suskin (creator of Poem Forest US), spoken word poet Regie Cabico, Bomani Armah (Baba Got Bars) and Angela Gladue (Indigenous dancer). Available artists are announced in late summer for offerings that take place in August and September.

In-Kind Resources

Over the course of the program’s existence, we have enjoyed partnerships with organizations and companies such as Crayola, Little Kids Rock and the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). These partnerships have enabled us to send tangible resources such as art supplies, instruments, and training courses to our schools at no cost.

Currently, we are able to offer partner schools free licenses from Flocabulary, a dynamic library of hip-hop-based video lessons and activities to increase student literacy and storytelling. We also offer free musical theater kits, courtesy of Music Theatre International, which enables our schools to legally license and produce student performances of Broadway, Jr. productions. We are actively researching additional in-kind partnerships and welcome inquiries from interested national providers.
